How much does a manicure cost at Romy Salon in Fairfax?
A classic manicure is $45, luxury manicure is $65, gel manicure is $60, and Gel-X extensions start at $85. Pedicures: classic $65, luxury $95, gel $80. Swarovski crystal designs are $8 per nail and can be added to any service.
What is Gel-X and how is it different from acrylics?
Gel-X is a soft gel nail extension that gives you the length of acrylic without the damage. The extension is pre-shaped, fitted to your natural nail, and cured under LED light. Lifts less than acrylic, removes safely with acetone (no filing your natural nail), and the finish looks more natural.
Do you do nail art and crystal designs?
Yes — hand-painted nail art, French and ombre tips, marble effects, foil work, and Swarovski crystal placement are all available. Crystals are $8 per nail. Complex hand-painted designs (intricate flowers, abstract art) are quoted per design.
How long do gel and Gel-X last?
Gel polish lasts 2–3 weeks before tip wear. Gel-X extensions last 3–4 weeks before fills. Both should be removed with proper acetone soak (not picked off) to keep your natural nails healthy.
Are your tools sanitized?
Yes — we use single-use tools whenever possible (files, buffers, orange sticks). Reusable tools (metal pushers, cuticle nippers) are heat-sterilized in a medical-grade autoclave between every guest. Pedicure tubs are jet-flushed and disinfected after each use.
Do you do pedicures with extensions or for thick toenails?
Yes. For pedicures we use soaking tubs, exfoliation, callus reduction (mechanical, not blade), nail shaping, cuticle care, hot stone massage on the calves, and polish. For thick toenails we have specialized clippers and can refer out for medical pedicure when needed.
