How much does balayage cost in Old Town Fairfax?
At Romy Salon, partial balayage starts at $185 and full balayage starts at $245. Final pricing depends on length, density, and color complexity. Every color service includes complimentary Olaplex bond-builder and a finishing blowout.
Do you do color corrections?
Yes — Romy is a master colorist and specializes in color correction. These are multi-step appointments that require a consultation first (in person or via video). Color corrections start at $350 and can take 4–6 hours depending on the starting condition.
Do you take walk-ins?
We accept walk-ins when stylists have openings, but we are appointment-first. To guarantee your seat, please book online via Mangomint or call ahead. Sunday and Saturday appointments fill quickly — book at least a week out for weekends.
How far in advance should I book?
For standard color, balayage, or facials with Romy, book 2–3 weeks ahead. For color corrections, 4–6 weeks. For bridal services and trials, please inquire as early as possible — we typically book bridal trials 2–4 months ahead.
How long is the Romy Color Journey?
The signature Color Journey is approximately 3 hours and includes consultation, Olaplex treatment, custom color, gloss, head spa massage, and a finishing blowout with styling tutorial. From $375.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours notice for cancellations or reschedules. Cancellations within 24 hours are subject to a 50% service charge. No-shows are charged 100%. Please call or text 571.682.8482 as soon as you know.
Where is the salon and where do I park?
We are at 3950 University Drive, Suite 211, Fairfax VA 22030 — in the heart of Old Town Fairfax. Free street parking is available along University Drive, and a public garage is one block north (Old Town Hall lot, first hour free).
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes — digital gift cards in any amount ($25 minimum) are available and never expire. They can be used for any service or retail product. Gift cards are emailed within minutes of purchase.

Are you Olaplex certified? What products do you carry?
Yes, we are an authorized Olaplex salon — bond-builder is included in every color service at no extra cost. We carry premium professional lines and can recommend take-home products to maintain your color between visits.
Do you do bridal hair and makeup?
Yes — bridal is one of our specialties. We offer a Bride package ($625) with trial plus day-of styling, a Bridal Party package for the bride plus 4 guests ($1,425), and on-location service within 30 miles of Fairfax ($1,850+). See our bridal page for details.
How much should I tip?
Tipping is appreciated but never expected. Industry standard is 18–22% of the service price. You can tip in cash or add it directly to the Mangomint receipt at checkout.
What is a head spa massage and what does it cost?
The head spa is a restorative scalp, neck, and shoulder treatment using aromatherapy, deep conditioning, and pressure-point release. Express (30 min) is $75, Signature (60 min) is $135, Luxury Ritual (90 min, includes foot soak and gua sha) is $210. You can also add it to any service for $45.
Do you do hair extensions?
Yes — we offer tape-in and hand-tied extensions, color-matched to your hair. Extensions start at $400 plus the cost of hair. Maintenance appointments every 6–8 weeks.
Can I bring my own hair color or product?
For your safety and our color guarantee, we only use professional product brought into the salon. If you have a product you love and want us to use it, mention it during your consultation and we will check whether it is compatible with our process.
What is included in a facial?
Every facial begins with skin analysis and is customized to your concerns. Our facials use Image Skincare and HydraFacial-style protocols. The Signature Facial ($269, 90 min) includes deep cleansing, exfoliation, extractions if needed, targeted mask, facial massage, and product layering. LED therapy and add-ons available.
